    1837 DORSET/'SHAFTESBURY PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (DT458). Fine letter from Nash Court Marnhull to 'T Wills Esqr Solicitor Shaftesbury' dated May 1st 1837 and charged '1'. On front good strike boxed 'Shaftesbury/Penny Post' hand stamp in black (DT458) and superb strike unframed 'No.6' receiving house hand stamp of Marnhull. Letter reads 'I have this day Committed to take his trial at the next sessions, James Haywood, for stealing Barley and a sack from his Master...'. (Ref 119830).
