1832 MAIL DORSET TO HATTON GARDEN LONDON/'BEAMINSTER' HAND STAMP (DT10)/'CREWKERNE PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (SO411). Fine wrapper from Netherbury (Dorset) to 'C. Cox and Son 44 Hatton Garden London' dated Jan 2 1832 initially charged '11', rerated to '1/9' confirmed by 'Crown' style inspector's mark in red. On front fine strike boxed 'No.1' receiving house hand stamp of Beaminster (Dorset), under Crewkerne (Somerset) and on reverse fine strike boxed 'Crewkerne/P.y Post' hand stamp in black (SO411) slightly overstruck London date stamp 4 JA 1832. Also on reverse fine strike 'BEAMINSTER' straight line hand stamp in black (DT10). Letter sent 'On His Majesty's Service' from a soldier requesting an advance. (Ref 119674).
