1840 DORSET/'BEAMINSTER' UDC (DT12). Fine letter from the 'Post Office Beaminster' 'To H M Aldridge Esqr Under Sheriff Pool' dated Feb 27 1840, post paid 'P1', letter states 'I beg to inform you that there is a mistake, as I do not keep post Horses but the Post Office...'. On front good strike boxed 'No.1' receiving house hand stamp of Beaminster (under the Crewkerne Penny Post), and on reverse fine strike 'BEAMINSTER' udc in black (DT12). (Ref 119672).
