1840 DORSET/'WOODYATES PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (DT752). Entire from Upwood Woodyates to Lincolns Inn London dated 30th June 1840 with postage '1' paid in cash with London PAID date stamp 1 JY 1840. On front fine strike 'No.2' unframed local receiver's hand stamp, as yet place of use unidentified although Upwood seems logical. On reverse fine strike (over flap) of the very scarce 'Woodyates/Penny Post' hand stamp in black (DT752). (Ref 119636).
