Description
1832 DORSET/BOXED 'MISSENT TO BLANDFORD' HAND STAMP (DT70). Entire from the Stamp Office, Somerset-Place, Legacy Duty Department, London dated 9th July 1832 addressed to 'Mrs Mary Gould Thornford Dorset' but without the post town, address was read as 'Hanford' near Blandford and redirected there and thence onto Sherborne. On front good strike of the scarce boxed 'Missent/to/Blandford' hand stamp in black (DT70) and boxed 'No.2' receiver's hand stamp of Shillingstone. Filing fold clear of hand stamp. (Ref 117509).
