Letter from Hertford dated April 22nd 1840 to 'The Revd A Wells, Congregational Library, Blomfield Street, Finsbury, London' with good strike Hertford 'Pd1' Uniform Penny Post hand stamp type 'J' in red (HE236) part overstruck London 'PAID' date stamp 23 AP 1840. Ex Kennedy and this hand stamp only recorded in use 1840. (Ref 136939).
