Large part wrapper, side flaps missing from West Burton, North Yorks to 'Samuel Wise Esq., Solr., Ripon' with 1d (SG8) lettered SJ with four very close but clear to large margins and tied fine strike Bedale Maltese cross. On front good strike 'West Burton/Penny Post' hand stamp in black (YK3110) and on reverse BEDALE date stamp MY 2 1843. Also 1846 letter Burton to London with 1d (SG8) lettered NK, cut into but tied fine strike '60' numeral of Bedale. On reverse good strike 'West Burton/Penny Post' hand stamp in blue (YK3110) and BEDALE date stamp MA 2 1846 in blue. 1931 used post card of 'West Burton' showing the Post Office also accompanies.
