1829 DORSET/'SHAFTESBURY 5TH_CL.POST' HAND STAMP TYPE 'G' (DT472). Fine letter Wincanton to 'W. Parfitt Esq Wells' dated 19th April 1829 and charged '10'?, on reverse good strike of the smaller boxed type 'SHAFTESBURY/5TH_CL.POST' type 'G' hand stamp in black (DT472). This is the last year of use of this mark and unusually does not show the 'No.3' receiving house hand stamp of Wincanton. (Ref 119614).
