THE VERY RARE "WIMBORNE PENNY POST" (DT733). Fine wrapper sent free mail Wimborne to Reigate dated August 15 1839, on front ms "1" and good strike "Pay 1D only" hand stamp. On reverse very fine strike "Wimborne/Penny Post" hand stamp in black (DT733) slightly overstruck WIMBORNE date stamp AU 15 1839. Apparently only two examples of the Wimborne Penny Post recorded to date. (Ref 111013).
