1831 MAIL CASTLE CARY, SOMS TO WIVELISCOMBE WITH 'SHEPTN. MALLET/5th Clause Post' HAND STAMP (SO686). Letter, some soiling and rebacked, from Castle Cary to Mr Hancock of Wiveliscombe, dated 24th Jan 1831, charged '8' and on front very fine strike boxed 'No.2' receiver's hand stamp of Castle Cary. On reverse good almost complete strike of the very scarce 'SHEPTN. MALLET/5th Clause Post' boxed hand stamp in black (SO686). Normal retail circa £175. (Ref 129254).
