1829 MAIL UPPINGHAM, RUTLAND TO NOTTINGHAM WITH 'UPPINGHAM' TYPE B TEMPORARY HAND STAMP (RU34). Fine letter from Uppingham to 'Messrs. Leeson and Gill, Solicitors, Nottingham' dated 14th December 1829 and charged '7'. On reverse fine strike of the distinctive type B 'Uppingham' straight line hand stamp in black (RU34). Filing fold affects but a very scarce hand stamp in use for less than two years, first recorded example dated November 1829. (Ref 129359).
