VALENTINE TEMPERANCE ENVELOPE. A fine unused circa 1890 Deraedemaeker reprint in black on grey wove paper showing the Goddess of Temperance receiving homage, at lower left are images of drunkenness with the inscription 'DELIVER US FROM EVIL'. Upon a banner the inscription reads 'MAINE LAW' referring to the banning of liquor in this US state. (Ref 121516).
