1871 1D PINK ENVELOPE AYR TO PEEBLES WITH MANUSCRIPT 'NOT KNOWN AT CRINGLETIE'. 1d pink envelope, small fault at top and rear flap missing, with dies '6 4 71' from Ayr to 'Mr and Mrs Alexr. Robertson, Cringletie, near Peebles' cancelled fine strike AYR/27 duplex JU 13 71. On front manuscript 'Not Known at Cringletie' also manuscript 'Not Known' with 'PEEBLES' date stamp JU 16 71 alongside. (Ref 128776).
