1840 1D MULREADY ADVERT 'J. H. PARKER' (MA462) FINE TO VERY FINE USED OXFORD TO WAKEFIELD. Fine to very fine used 1d Mulready wrapper, stereo A35, from Oxford to 'Mr Cryer, Bookseller, Wakefield' with very fine strike Oxford Maltese cross in red, on reverse 'OXFORD' date stamp JU 2 1840 and 'WAKEFIELD' date stamp JU 4 1840. Within very fine printed advert 'J. H. PARKER' (Spec MA462). Mr Parker states 'I beg leave to call your attention to the accompanying Prospectus, and to inform you that the regular trade allowance of 25 per Cent. will be made on all the Copies which you may receive orders, either Subscribers' or Non-Subscribers'...' dated Oxford June 1840. A very rare advert and this being the only recorded example to date. (Ref 141761).
