1840 1D MULREADY FRONT GLASGOW TO BOMBAY VIA LONDON AND MARSEILLES. Good used 1d Mulready front, some creasing and mounted on paper, from Glasgow to 'Major Robert N. Campbell, Commanding Naer Brigade, Travandrum-Travancore, By Bombay', endorsed 'Via Marseilles' with manuscript 'Paid 3/6½d'. On front 'GLASGOW/PAID' date stamp JN 29 1840 and London 'PAID' date stamp 1 JY 1840. Imperfections but a very rare overseas usage. (Ref 141096).
