LONDON LOCAL POST 'RETURNED LETTER' WRAPPERS. A good lot of London local post 'Returned Letter' wrappers plus several later examples from 1826-1902: two 1826 'Two-Penny Post-Office' printed 'Returned Letter' wrappers with very fine London Twopenny Post 'regulations' within that fully explain the services, one with original returned letter still inside, unfortunately both badly toned; 1838 pre-paid with imprint 'Returned paid Letter/Dead-Letter Office' dated July 24 1838 and apparently very rare before 1840; eight 'Returned paid Letter' printed envelopes from 1842, 1845 x 4, 1847, 1849 and 1851?; 1852 'Returned Paid Letter/Dead Letter Office' envelope to the 'Gt.Northern Railway, London' with original returned letter inside and 1902 'OHMS/Returned Postal Packet/Returned Letter Office, General Post Office, London' envelope with very fine original undelivered letter within. A very unusual lot, 15 items including enclosures and ex Martin Willcocks. (Ref 128138).
