    1794 MAIL USED IN LONDON WITH UNRECORDED 'HARLEY ST PAID 1d' STRAIGHT LINE HAND STAMP IN BLACK. Fine entire letter with personal petition from a housemaid addressed to 'The Hone. Peter De Salis, Great Cumberland Street, Portman Sqr.' on front light strike of the rare 'CROWN/PAID' hand stamp in mauve (L406) and alongside fair but quite readable strike of the unrecorded 'HARLEY ST Paid 1d' straight line hand stamp in black. Unrecorded in both the London County Catalogue and Feldman's book on receivers. Letter undated but on reverse light strike of the '7o'Clock/27.AU.....' date stamp year unreadable but this hand stamp only used in 1794. (Ref 128076).
