    1833 LEGACY DUTY DEPARTMENT PRINTED LETTER LONDON TO DORSET WITH 'MISSENT TO' AND 'DORCHESTER' HAND STAMPS (DT254/DT223). Fine printed letter from The Legacy Duty Department, London to 'The Rev. Jn Wood, Melborne St Andrew, Dorset' charged '9' and altered to '10' and then '11½', missent to Dorchester and redirected to Blandford. On front good to fine strike 'Missent to' hand stamp (DT254) and alongside fine strike 'DORCHESTER' straight line hand stamp in black (DT223), latter hand stamp used three years later than county catalogue records. Postal charge of '11½' unexplained. (Ref 126935).
