1844 DORSET/'BLANDFORD PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (DT56). Wrapper Blandford to 'The Revd Bowers Covent Garden London' with fine 1d red (SG8) lettered JF with good four margins and tied neat '87' numeral of Blandford. Alongside fine strike boxed 'No.5' receiving house hand stamp of Almer, on reverse good strike 'BLANDFORD/27 SE 1844/PY POST' hand stamp in black (DT56), partly overstruck London date stamp 28 SP 1844. Filing fold clear of stamp and hand stamps. (Ref 119695).
