    1775 'PARTINGTON' LONDON GENERAL POST RECEIVER'S HAND STAMP OF RICHARD PARTINGTON OF HOLBORN ON LETTER LONDON TO BRIDGEWATER, SOMERSET. Letter, some internal imperfections, from London 'To Mr. Abraham Stevens, Atty. at Law, Stowey near Bridgewater, Somersetshire' dated 'Easter Term 16th George the 3rd' (1775) and charged '1N' (1/- in all). On reverse fine strike 'Partington' straight line hand stamp of the London General Post receiver Richard Partington, also light strike London Bishop mark. Richard Partington was a stationer at 58 Holborn Hill and also a General Post receiver who used this straight line hand stamp 1771 until 1782, filing fold clear of hand stamp. (Ref 129054).
