Letter, filing folds, dated 16th June 1838 from 'Stamford, Spalding and Boston Banking Company' from Bourn Bank to 'Mefsrs Perkins and Co, Engravers, Fleet Street, London', charged '9', altered to '1/6', confirmed by 'Crown' inspectors mark. Letter is 'returning specimen of the note with suggestions'. In 1840 Perkins Bacon and Co were the printers of the Penny Black. (Ref 134465).
