1850 MAIL DOVER TO LONDON WITH 1D (SG8), POSTAGE UNDERPAID WITH CHARGE MARKS. Entire Dover to 'Messrs. Hale Boys and Austen, 6 Ely Place, Holborn, London' with 1d (SG8) lettered JL, touched at right otherwise good margins, tied 1844 numeral cancellation. Postage underpaid with manuscript '2' charge and circular 'MORE.TO.PAY-L-' hand stamp in red, also fair strike 'TOWN-HALL' straight line receiver's hand stamp in red. On reverse 'DOVER' date stamp JY 12 1850. (Ref 62822).
