Envelope, minor peripheral imperfections, from Ramsgate to a Mr Butler in Calcutta, India endorsed 'Via Marseilles and Bombay' with die 2 1d rose-red on white paper (SG40) lettered KA, several short perforations, fine 1s pale green (SG73) and good to fine used horizontal pair 4d rose (SG66a) all tied good to fine strikes 'RAMSGATE/634' duplexes OC 17 61. Stamps paying the 1/9 ¾oz rate via Marseilles. Scarce and attractive franking. (Ref 137898).
