1840 1D MULREADY DORCHESTER TO LONDON WITH 'DORCHESTER' DATE STAMP ON FRONT. Used 1d Mulready wrapper (stereo A249) from the scarcer Forme 5 (spec ME1k cat. £750) from Dorchester to The Strand in London dated 22nd Oct 1840. Address partly expunged and horizontal crease but cancelled red Maltese cross of Dorchester, and very unusually on front fine strike DORCHESTER date stamp OC 22 1840. (Ref 113773).
