Fine printed wrapper from the "Stamp Office, Somerset Place, Legacy Duty Department" London dated 9 Jan 1827 to "Mr Nathan Bird Leigh Dorset" with additional later ms "nr Sherborne". Cover charged "10" and at upper left fine strike of the Dorchester "MISSENT TO" hand stamp (DT252) and alongside good strike "DORCHESTER/123" mileage mark in black (DT221). Very late usage of the Missent hand stamp, county cat. records until 1824. (Ref 110414).
