Very fine Penny Pink envelope Derby to 'Mrs M Gisborne, Walton Hall, Burton on Trent' cancelled superb strike DEEP BLUE MALTESE CROSS OF DERBY. On front good to fine strike 'TOO LATE' handstamp of Derby also in blue, on reverse 'DERBY' date stamp JU 22 1842 same colour deep blue. Most examples of the Derby Maltese cross are in much darker and unimpressive colour, this being the finest example of the Derby Maltese Cross in blue we have seen. BPA Cert 47477. (Ref 144716).
