1840 MAIL CARLISLE TO PENRITH 1D BLACK PL.1B (SG2)(JB). Envelope from Carlisle, Cumberland to 'Thos. Blaymire Esq, Under-Sheriff, Penrith' with 1d black pl.1b (SG2) lettered JB, just touched at upper right and just clear at left, crease affects, tied red Maltese cross. On reverse 'CARLISLE' date stamp JY 27 1840. Stamp shows 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square. (Ref 142411).
