Ok.... so in 1956 I was born in Bristol and grew up there , but this has to be one of THE best UK towns to collect.... it has early pre 1660 mail incl. English Civil War, Maritime/Transatlantic mail with a good range of  'Ship Letter' handstamps as it was for a long time the main port to the USA, a very extensive 'Bristol Penny Post' incl. a 5th Clause arrangement, distinctive handstamps, Cross post covers, destinations .... in fact most things the postal historian seeks. Our book page will usually offer the County Catalogue Vol 1 by Willcocks/Jay which contains the Bristol section and publications by Purcell and Ian Warn. For interested collectors we recommend membership of the Bristol Postal History Group, please contact.
