    1803 MAIL BRISTOL TO COGNAC VIA HAMBURG DUE TO NAPOLEONIC WARS. Fine letter from Bristol dated August 1 1803 to Cognac, on front 'P1/6' and other accountancy marks, also fine strike 'R.4.' indicating transit via Hamburg. On reverse fine to very fine strike 'BRISTOL/AUG.1.1803' type 11 date stamp (BS47-53). On reverse good to fine strike 'FOREIGN OFFICE/17/1803' hand stamp in red. Fine usage. (Ref 141971).
