1856 DIE 2 1D PL.35 OVERPRINTED 'SPECIMEN' TYPE 2 BRICK-RED SHADE (SG30/SPEC C8s). A superb unused 1856 die 2 1d pl.35 overprinted 'SPECIMEN' type 2 in the rare BRICK-RED shade (SG30/Spec C8s) lettered HI with very fine o.g. This stamp overprinted 'SPECIMEN' has always been considered the colour reference for the die 2 brick-red shade. (Ref 141028).
