1840-41 MATCHED QUARTET 1D BLACK PL.8 (SG2), AND 1D REDS (SG7) X 3 IN STATE ONE (SPEC AS51) X 2, ONE WITH RED MALTESE CROSS AND SINGLE IN STATE TWO (SPEC AS55) LETTERED EH. Very fine used 1840 1d black pl.8 (SG2) lettered EH with very fine margins and cancelled fine strike black Maltese cross. Matched with two 1d reds also state one (SG7/Spec AS51), one with four very close but clear to fine margins, corner bend upper left, cancelled black Maltese cross clear of Queen's profile and the second example very fine used on small piece with fine margins tied complete strike RED MALTESE CROSS (Spec ASva) BPA cert accompanies. Also good used 1d red in STATE TWO (SG7/Spec AS55), touched at upper left otherwise good margins and cancelled heavier strike black Maltese cross. Both state one's show the 'O' flaw, the state two without 'O' flaw and with basal indentation (Osborne). Fine quartet (4 items). (Ref 141833).
