1840-41 MATCHED TRIO 1D BLACKS PL.1A (SG3), PL.1B (SG2) AND PENNY RED PL.1B (SG7) LETTERED NI. Fine used 1d grey-black pl.1a (SG3) lettered NI, four close to fine margins, very fine strike red Maltese cross, 5 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square and 'DIAGONAL STROKE OF 'N' SHORT' (Lichfield). Matched with fine 1d black pl.1b (SG2), four close to very large margins, red Maltese cross, also good used 1d red pl.1b (SG7), corner bend and indistinct strike black Maltese cross but fine four margins. Both plate 1b's show 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square and 'N RETOUCHED' (Spec AS5e/AS7e). 1d black pl.1b also shows 'BURR RUB' above NE square. Very scarce trio. (3 items). (Ref 141781).
