1819 MAIL POOLE, DORSET TO HIGHWORTH, WILTSHIRE, MISSORTED WITH BOXED 'MISSENT TO/SALISBURY' HAND STAMP (WL681). Letter from Bourne Cottage, Poole to 'James Crowdy Esq, Solicitor, Highworth, Wiltshire' dated Feb 14 1819, initially charged '9' but altered to '1/1'. On front fair strike 'POOL/116' mileage mark in black, letter evidently missorted and on front fine strike of the boxed chamfered 'MISSENT TO/SALISBURY' hand stamp in black (WL681). (Ref 137271).
