1795 MAIL BRIDGNORTH TO HOLBORN, LONDON WITH 'BRIDGE/NORTH' HAND STAMP (SH63). Letter from Bridgnorth dated 12th July 1795 to 'Charles Cox Esqr., Bartletts Buildings, Holborn, London', slight soiling and charged '5'. On front fair to good strike 'BRIDGE/NORTH' two line hand stamp in black (SH63). The letter mentions 'enclosing the remaining halves of two ten pound notes', at this time, for security reasons bank notes were cut in half and then mailed. (Ref 131638).
