Prince Ward and King, New York' with good to fine strip of six 1840 2d blue pl.1 (SG5) lettered EG EH EI EJ EK EL, EG EI EL touched in places otherwise fine margins, EK clearly tied at foot. Additional manuscript 'P Steamer Columbia from Liverpool' and on front 'BOSTON/SHIP' handstamp in red. On reverse Edinburgh date stamp DEC 2 1841. Horizontal filing fold well clear of stamps. Slight imperfections but a rare and attractive usage ex Christopher Beresford collection (1988). (Ref 143552).
