1861 2d BLUE PL.9 IMPERFORATE (SG45) LETTERED 'JC', GOOD UNUSED. A good unused example of the 1861 2d blue pl.9 (SG45) lettered JC, IMPERFORATE ON EXTREMELY THIN UNWATERMARKED PAPER, slight creasing and other faults mainly confined to margins. Status unknown, it was first mentioned in December 1908 as a forgery in the 'British Philatelist' whilst others have referred to it as a trial on Dr. Perkin's pelure paper. Apparently only six examples are known, this one from the collection of the late Jane Moubray. First example we have seen for many years. (Ref 143542).
