    1856 MAIL SHERBORNE, DORSET TO LONDON DIE 2 1d PL.24 'C7 ABNORMAL PRINTING'. Fine letter from Sherborne dated 27th Feb 1856 to 'E. Newman Esq, Old Hummums, Covent Garden, London' with good Die 2 1d pl.24 red-brown on blued paper watermark small crown (Spec C7), lettered IA, tied fine strike '702' numeral of Sherborne, on reverse 'SHERBORNE' date stamp FE 27 1856. MW Cert 'one short perforation at top right and one SW corner. No other faults'. Stamp centred to left but alphabet 3 'A' clearly distinguishable and small crown watermark clearly visible from reverse. Cat £2500.00 on cover. (Ref 143416).
