1812 FREE MAIL LONDON TO OSWESTRY WITH CHAMFERED BOXED 'TO PAY/ONLY/D2' HANDSTAMP IN BLACK (L804). Fine entire letter plus additional letter in another hand, presumably franking abuse from London to Oswestry dated August 19 1812 and on front good strike of chamfered boxed 'TO PAY/ONLY/D2' chargemark in black (L804). Franked mail still had to pay the London Twopenny Post charge but was exempt from the General Post charge. (Ref 143121).
