A superb ORIGINAL unused example of the 1840 Spooner Caricature No.5 in black on white wove paper with Britannia armed for offence as well as defence, the lion is reading the new Postal Regulations. On each side are depicted humorous exchanges between people 'Waiter how long will my soup be' reply 'It's just put in the post sir' ... 'Granny cant you send belly-aches away by the post.' and 'Have you sent my Mutton Mr Sticken.' reply 'The boy has just put it in the post Miss'. A superb caricature. (Ref 135441).
