1782 MAIL SALISBURY TO COKER, SOMERSET WITH SUPERB STRIKE 'SHERBORNE/Poft/Office' TYPE J DISTINCTIVE HAND STAMP (DT505). Fine entire Salisbury to 'William Hilyar, Coker, Somersetshire' dated 8 Nov 1782, charged '3', on reverse superb strike of the very scarce 'SHERBORNE/Poft/Office' distinctive circular handstamp type J (DT505) in black. Also on reverse good strike 'SALISBURY' straight line hand stamp in black, 52 x 5 mm, unrecorded in County catalogue. Unusual as this Sherborne handstamp usually accompanied by a Taunton handstamp rather than Salisbury. (Ref 110977).
