1911 FIRST OFFICAL U.K. AERIAL POST LONDON POST CARD IN OLIVE GREEN TO SUTTON, SURREY. Used 1911 first official U.K. aerial post London post card in olive green, tear at top and some soiling, from London to 'Miss E Duerdin, 39 High Street, Sutton, Surrey' with KGV ½d Downey Head cancelled fine strike 'FIRST UNITED KINGDOM/AERIAL POST LONDON' date stamp SP 11 1911 die 3. Message on reverse reads 'Hope you receive this postcard alright. I should like to travel with this card, wouldn't you. This is a quite new way of sending cards. You see I did not have far to go for this, as we sell them in the stationary dept'. The writer evidently worked at the shop 'John Barker' as this is underlined at left on reverse, John Barker was one of the retail stores where the post cards etc. were sold to the public. Soiled but priced accordingly. (Ref 139716).
