Used 1d Mulready wrapper, stereo unknown, from Aberystwith dated January 2nd 1841 to 'J and E Stephens Esq, National Provl. Bank, Bristol' with red Maltese cross of Aberystwith, on reverse light strike 'ABERYSTWITH' udc in same colour and 'BRISTOL' date stamp JA 4 1841. Some creasing and small part reverse missing when opened. Within fine printed advert 'Clerical, Medical and General LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY' dated March 5th 1840, at bottom right 'JOSEPH DOWNIE, Agent, BANK, ABERYSTWITH' (Spec MA113k). Unusually still attached to Mulready is a banking receipt in respect of £50 and signed by the agent. Twenty used examples of this advert recorded to date. (Ref 141770).
