Fine mourning envelope from Wakefield to 'Samuel Wheatley Esq, Butterton Hall, Newcastle under Lyne, Staffordshire' with good 1d Archer experimental perforation PL.97 (SG16b) lettered NE tied fine strike '831' numeral of Wakefield. On reverse 'WAKEFIELD' date stamp DE 19 1850. Several trimmed perforations but only 22 Archers on cover are recorded from Yorkshire and most of those from Sheffield, this being the only recorded usage from Wakefield. (Ref 142370).
