1840 MATCHED TRIO LETTERED IA 1D BLACK PL.1A (SG2), 1D BLACK PL.1B (SG2) AND 1D RED PL.1B (SG7), PLATE 1B's CONSTANT VARIETY. Fine to very used 1840 1d black pl.1A (SG2) with fine to very fine margins, cancelled neat strike red Maltese cross and clearly showing 5 and 10 o'clock ray flaws. Matched with fine 1d black pl.1B (SG2) four fine margins, fine strike black Maltese cross and fine 1d red pl.1B (SG7) lettered IA, four good to fine margins, fine strike black Maltese cross. The two plate 1B's show constant variety 'VERTICAL LINE CENTRE NE SQUARE'. A very fine and scarce matched trio. (Ref 141140).
