1869 VERY LATE USE 1D MULREADY LETTERSHEET BELBROUGHTON, WORCS TO WINDERMERE. Good to fine used 1d Mulready lettersheet, stereo A51, small tear at top and slight soiling, from Belbroughton in Worcestershire to 'Mrs Staniforth, Storrs, Windermere'. Britannia uncancelled, contrary to regulations and on front at lower right large part strike 'STOURBRIDGE/750' duplex AU 18 69. At lower left fine strike hand stamp '2' charge mark in black, overstruck fine strike '750' numeral of Stourbridge, evidently the postal clerk incorrectly believed that the Mulready was no longer valid for postage. On reverse 'BELBROUGHTON' date stamp AU 18 69 and 'WINDERMERE' date stamp AU 19 69. Very unusual usage. (Ref 140934).
