Fine envelope from Bickley Station, Kent to 'Commander A A C Parrs RN, HMS Frolic, West Coast of Africa, or Elsewhere' with 1d lilac (SG172) and 3d lilac (SG191) lettered QC tied fine strike 'BROMLEY KENT/144' duplex JU 12 85. On reverse 'BICKLEY.STATION' receivers date stamp 12 JU 85. This ship had been on the lookout for slave traders along the Gold Coast but apparently the ship had been sent to Ascension Island in April, not returning to West Africa for three months.
