1841 POSTAL NOTICE 'TO ALL POSTMASTERS AND LETTER RECEIVERS' FROM E.S. LEES 'GENERAL POST OFFICE, EDINBURGH' INTRODUCING THE PENNY RED (SG8), THE TWOPENNY BLUE (SG14) AND THE NEW POSTAL STATIONERY (Spec PN8). A fine original example of this very important document comprising two complete A4 sheets, the left sheet introducing the 1841 twopenny blue (SG14) with very fine example 2d proof (DP43) without corner letters. The right sheet introducing the 1841 1d imperf red pl.5 (SG7) lettered FA in state two (Spec AS30a) with four close to fine margins, fine colour and showing the weaker check letter 'A'. Also two examples of the 1d pink envelope overprinted 'SPECIMEN' and unused 'OHMS' envelopes originally used as enclosures. (4 items). Rare and a very important exhibition item. (Ref 141691).
