1842 LETTER WELSHPOOL TO BISHOPS CASTLE, SHROPSHIRE WITH PAIR 2D BLUE (SG14) WITH SINGLE MALTESE CROSS CANCELLATION. Letter from Welshpool dated 25 October 1842 to 'Jn. Griffiths Esq. Solicitor, Bishops Castle', with horizontal pair 2d blue (SG14) lettered CH CI, both cut into but tied one good single strike black Maltese cross, contrary to regulations. Creasing clear of stamps. On reverse 'WELSHPOOL' date stamp OC 25 1842. Letter originally contained a 'Draft Agreement'. (Ref 138930).
