1841 POSTAL NOTICE 'TO ALL POSTMASTERS, SUB-POSTMASTERS, AND LETTER RECEIVERS' FROM E.S. LEES 'GENERAL POST OFFICE EDINBURGH 1841' INTRODUCING THE PENNY RED (SG8), THE TWO PENNY BLUE (SG14) AND THE NEW POSTAL STATIONERY (SPEC PN8). A fine original example of this very important document comprising two completed A4 sheets, the left sheet introducing the 1841 two penny blue (SG14) with very fine example 2d proof (DP43) without corner letters. The right sheet introducing the 1841 1d imperf with fine 1d red pl.5 (SG7) lettered RK in State one, four close to fine margins and excellent colour. Also affixed two fine examples of the 1d pink envelope overprinted 'SPECIMEN' in red. A rare and very important exhibition item. (Ref 142229).
