1840 MATCHED TRIO LETTERED HL 1D GREY-BLACK PL.1A (SG3), 1D BLACK PL.1B (SG2) AND 1D RED PL.1B (SG7), PLATE 1B's CONSTANT VARIETY. Good used 1840 1d grey-black pl.1A (SG3) showing slight plate wear, lettered HL, just touched at lower left otherwise good margins and cancelled fine red Maltese cross. Matched with fine 1d black pl.1B (SG2), four close to fine margins, red Maltese cross and very fine used 1d red pl.1B (SG7) also lettered HL with very fine strike black Maltese cross. The two plate 1B's show 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws, weakness under value and fine constant variety 'H SQUARE RE-CUT' (Spec AS5i/AS7i). A very fine trio. (Ref 141139).
